best fish for mosquito larva control?

I prefer guppies. Less aggressive than mosquito fish at the very least and proliferate fast.

Mosquito fish are the answer. They will proliferate and can provide food for your bigger fish. Plus they can live in all types of water and since they are native they will survive the year round. And you can get them free at almost any lake or pond! I put some in a garbage can that I'm using to soak my driftwood and it is nasty and got some mosquito larvae until I dumped some mosquito fish in it.

Gambusia have been stocked in NJ water, for mosquito control, since 1905. fattigfish.com carries a selectively-bred strain of G. affinis that is cold tolerant to NJ winters. The only stipulation is to use a pond de-icer to maintain a small hole in the ice to replenish O2 in the pond. They charge around $60/delivered for a bag of 50 gambusia.

Is the pond filtered?

I vote for Goldfish.

Rosey reds are also good at mosquito control(they are what I'm using) . As far as the dragonflys... once the ponds been up for awhile they should find it. I've counted up to three at once flying around my pond.

how would i get them to be established in my pond?
nymphs ~ you can actually buy them. Here's some quick google info I just got for you:http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/angling/bugs/dragonfly/dragonfly.phtml
They'll even eat small fish.My smaller koi and small comet(gold fish feeders) eat larvae like its candy as well. You can also use guppies and rosies as well. For that matter if you want pretty stuff get all kinds on fancy tail guppies.

Mosquito fish. I got all my mosquito fish for free. Contact you county's vector control. What i had to do was call them and tell them that i need mosquito fish and how big my pond was. They brought them the next morning. They did such a good job to the point i have to feed them flakes :D
