I know i have another thread like this but i figured i'd toss a poll in. I sold a few fish and im getting closer to ordering my fish i plan to get a pair out of. I was planningon doing festeas but im selling them. So right now im the 4 i like are the trimac, grammodes, istlanum, and lyonsi. I know a few people i know on here have voiced their opinion on the subject and i thank you guys for that. I'm just looking over thing to make sure im making the right choice. Color and personality are important to me. My 2 favorite fish are my trimac and grammodes. The istlanum and lyonsi are cool but can they compare to the personality that the trimac and grammodes have. Which fish has the best personality in a pair. I'm sure others have done what im doing right now as far as going back and forth between what to get. I have some time before i order so im all over

Grammodes and lyonsi don't have that great of a human interactive personality (from my limited experience).

I'd go for the istlanum, but I've never kept them so I can't comment on the personality.

the lyonsi seems like a cool fish but doesnt seem to be a people fish liek the others. May go with one of the other 3

Have never owned a pair of any of them, but i would love a pair of Lyonsi.

I know what you are going through, i have a new 180 waiting in the wings and i have spent everyday since ordering it trying to decide what will be living in it.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

im just stuck because the lyonsi i own isnt growing much and larger ones are pretty pricey. the grammodes and trimace are my favorite right now. I havent had my istlanum long enough to make an opinion on them yet

i have a solo trimac, great personality.true you don't see these alot in pairs, most likely because of the M/f not getting along for life,in large tanks maybe they can co-exist long term.are you looking to sell fry when you get them? trying to see what is the most wanted for the hobby?

i do want to introduce some new fish to my area by breeding and i have a few friends who own pet shops

I had some experiance with grammodes. They are very slow growers and tend to hide a lot when small. Mean as hell and dithers seem to calm them into coming out more. If you could find a couple of adults that would be cool but that would be rare.
