Want to try to breed something to see if I can make a little extra money nothing to serious more for fun ... What are some easy fish besides convicts kribs guppys etc

Anything easy to breed is already being bred and sold on a much larger scale then you can do and being sold for cheaper then you can sell them. Find something you like that is more challenging and do it for fun. You probably won't make any money.

In Milwaukee Tanganikan Cichlids always seemed to hold their value, compared to just about anything else at the local fish club auctions.
Although if you were trying to sell back to LFSs, I don't know if the initial expense would be worth the trouble.

It's a tough call. A hobbiest really doesn't make any money selling fry unless it's some species that's hard to come by or rarely bred but even at that there has to be some type of demand for the fish. Do you belong to a club?

Discus seems to be the easiest to sell when the price tag is fairly low.

As long as you're doing this more for fun and not in the hope of becoming rich, you won't be disappointed

Gibberosa, though you intial investment will likely be a little expensive.

I have to agree with all above statements. I have been breeding fish for 20 years and its really hard to do for a profit. The only times I have made a real profit is when a new fish is introduced to the hobby and I order them in directly from Africa. Discus are great sellers but breeding is problematic and to some a real challenge. Its also amazing how much time and money is spent raising your fish to a salable size. Good Luck, but do it just for fun, and if you make money, great.

Frontosa...Geophagus Juripari...seldom seen in the LFS(s) near me...ironically, it's the fish that require huge tanks that you see cheap...like RTC, Pacu and Koi...African Rift Lake cichlids are common, but the Victoria and Tanganikan cichlids seem to be seldom seen....

Like everyone said, breed for the fun of it as you won't get rich selling them. I used to breed bettas and dragon blood peacocks and the return profit is not even close to what you put in to breed them.
