best foods for armatus

Live feeders until it's 8"+ then smelt or tilapia until it's 12"+ then mackerel.

feeders for that long? How come?

I get mine off of feeders as soon as possible....never tried mackerel.

so one more question...while starving the armatus in order to get them on non live foods, is it normal for them to turn on each other because now i have 2 of my 3 armatus w one injured eye.

Armatus have been known to be territorial especially towards other Armatus, and it sucks if they get an eye cause those teeth are not forgiving .... I've never noticed biting, just more nudging out of the way, but yes a hungry fish is more likely to be more aggressive because of the natural evolutionary drive of competition for food

they can get feisty when hungry.

I gave my boy some fresh water eels that I bought from the Asian supermarket.He ate two of them and ignored the others that I dropped in.
