My snakehead right now seems to not show any interest in pellets of any kind, do I keep putting them in? is there any particular food that they will always go for? I do also have some frozen smelt that I haven't tried yet. Hes just been living off of feeders for the last week or so

hey Chub_by I already dropped a cricket in there and he kinda ignored it. It might be because hes still new.
Think its a good idea to try the smelt?

Depending on species, yes.
Ch. Gachua for example is rather insectivore, but if you have larger piscivore like Ch.Micropeltes or similar, it is well worth a try.

I only had smallish crickets because my female madagascan spiny iguana is still very small. either way he just totally ignored it. the feeder goldfish gave it more attention.

As said, Micropeltes is rather piscivore which explains why it liked the smelt but not the cricket. With smaller sp like gachua it would have been different.

how big is it ???? i would just stick to the smelts that is what i feed mine they go crazy over them .i also feed them other fish and once and a while i give them a live mouse as a treat. mine are very big tho so they can handle just about anything.
