Best FX5 stingray filter media to use!

I run Eheim substrate pro in all three trays in both FX5s that I run in conjunction with my Sump. Good stuff.

I recommend seachem pond matrix with original foam. You can buy two fx5's for one Eheim. Do the math. I have had mine for 6 years without leaks or any issues. Great filter for the money. With the regular sized Matrix some of the pieces are too small and can fall through the holes in the baskets, that's why you need the pond matrix. It's the same media, just has larger pieces.

Any of the eheim media ,like their smaller ceramic rings and their pebble types.they will out preform anything I've tried. Ive never tried any of those matrix but it seems similar to the eheim stuff
