Best Glass Bangers?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My Oscar has knocked itself out trying to get me through the glass...enless it sees me with food...then its my best friend, like a cute little wiggly puppy fish....NOT!!!!!
I thought it killed itself one day. It slammed into the glass, and sunk to the bottom for about 30min., barely breathing. Couple hours later, it was back at me, but this time it swam up to the glass and stopped short, amazing. These fish are smart...sort of. Mean, totally.:screwy:

Yeah i have an oscar that does that, he likes every one else and hates me ugh what ever, it is the tigar in my pic, i swear to god, i was feeding the bottom fish and i hear a HUGE loud bang and i was like "what?" i looked up and what do you know he is banging on the glass hahaha

Amph. sp.s, Jags, Dovii, and larger wolffish....they try to kill you through the glass.

I have or have had every fish mentioned above. Trimac/Flowerhorns are definately the biggest glass bangers. I mean literaly slamming into the tank. The others just Act like they are fighting against the glass when you come up. I showed my friends how my Flowerhorn would literaly go to the other side of the tank, just to build speed up to smash the tank harder. He ended up getting a huge gash on his head from doing that. Took quite a few months for it to heal up. I ended up turning down the temperature, which cut down his aggression. My Raps Dovii was very fish aggressive but not a tank smasher. I found my Jags to be very much like an oscar, which usually just mouth the glass like they are fighting another fish.

Dovii.

It's a different kind of "glass banger" but (imho) it's in a league of it's own as they show more aggression than just biting at the glass.
:headbang2Bingo! If anyone has had a chance to see the pair at SharkAquarium then they'd understand just why Rakie chose the Dovii.
