Good point Mastiff. But, at least here in the States, "nano" does seem to be a new trend. lol, even here in my house, it's all I would have room to add for now :)

I'm not sure if you realize this... But in Japan, aquarists literally don't have oom for anything BUT Nano Fish. They have been stacking real estate for a while now over there! Nano is not something that the choose... It's ALL that they have! Sucks but it's a fact. Have seen the typical families home? It's like a large bedroom. EVerything is shurnkn down and compacted! It's sad actually that they have to live in such close quarters. but it's normal to them... SO I'm not sure if "Nano" is that up and coming... That's like saying that compact PC's and Laptops are the thing now...

And that couldn't be farther from the truth! You have to analyze the enthusiast market, which is normally a pretty big market in most hobbies.... JMO Though! :D
That's hardly the case, even here in the states. This website is a small majority of the hobby. And even then, many members here aren't all into huge tanks and huge fish. I myself downsized from a 400g tank. Not because I had to, but because I chose to. Take a look on other forums. Nano planted and reef tanks are all the rage right now.

i agree, Lately ive been thinking of doing a nano reef or nano planted.

I have to say nano tanks as well. The only tanks I have are a 6 and a 3 gallon. I find them a welcome challenge to aquascape. I'm thinking licorice gouramis, wild bettas, and darios will be the next big thing. They're not as hard to keep as believed to be.
