Best HOB filter?

In your opinions what is the best HOB filter?

emp 400,they have worked very well for me. room for additional media and easy to service, have heard noise complaints but mine are very quiet. look out here comes the ac110 fans!

wow, guess its a matter of opinion there. some love the emp 400s and some love the ac 110s. i have both and like both. the emp sometimes is a bit loud but that could be a scored rotor. the ac you can modify a little to get a stronger flow, i dont like the strainer that comes with the ac nor the lenth of the tube...so i remove the strainer, take a piece of undergravel filter tube and attach it to the ac tube and then take a emp 400 strainer and attach it to that.

I have an AC500 and an Emperor 400. I like the AC500 a little better.

ac110 because the ease of use. havent had a emp 400 before.

Well with the impellar going bad on my Emp400 I am leaning towards the my ACs as being my favorite. I do still like the regular old penguin biowheels though.

AquaClear 110 (formerly 500) are my favorite HOB filters. I like that you customize the media you put in it. They are also completely silent. I've also owned Penguin and Emperor bio-wheels, but prefer the AquaClear.

I havent used Emp400's, but might try one on my next tank along with other means of filtration.
On my current tanks(Only a 55 & 35) I use AC110's. Pretty good filters IMO.

I've never used the emps but I have two AC110's and they are far from silent, I still like them though.
