I want to know your best remedies for pain. I have have a very high tolerance to over the counter and prescription pain meds.

A few years ago I got hit by a car. Managed to walk away with a few broke ribs. Now it constantly hurts. Even if I'm just sitting still relaxing. Since I have a very high tolerance for pain meds they offten don't do anything to help and the pain remains. Even the strongest prescribed meds don't help. I've tried just about everything.

i swim alot.. find a heated pool.. and take classes or just free swimming will help.. the reason i say swim is because it is the one exercise that has little or no impact on any joints that you may have injured.. and if it has turned into arthritis just because it hurts does not mean that you should not keep moving.. being in a pool you won't even know you are still keeping the muscles strong. with out injuring the bones ... and with movement comes alot less pain and being able to sleep better all around is good for you.. but before you do anything have a physical to make sure that nothing was missed from your accident..

Hmm I'm going to try that. It might also help with a few old kickboxing injuries that stop me from being more active like I used to be. I just one done a days ago . They gave me some 700mg horse pills that don't do nothing for me but my wife toke one for her leg after she slipped on some ice within an half a hour she was sleeping.

Where exactly is Waterbury? I live in Canada and they have medical marijuana, i know its pretty controversial in the USA but it actually helps alot. My friend has a disease of her ovaries and the only pain relief she gets now comes from medical marijuana, plus there is no extreme side effects, and it helps with your appetite. Its also extremely cheap because they allow you to grow the amount you need for relief. You may not take this post seriously but its the best advice i can give you.

the problem with meds are they destroy your kidneys.. if they shut down.. thats a disaster.. so try alternatives to meds the best you can..good luck

I have several old injuries (shoulder, back, wrist) 3 required surgery. nerve damage in my back.
I take a natural anti-inflammatory every day. it works better if always in my system, not "as needed".
It's called PHENOCANE:

it helps ALL my injuries. works better the longer I'm on it. inflammation is cumulative, so the idea is to stop the main thing- not just flare ups & bad days.
the directions say 1 a day. but what worked for me was to start with up to 4 a day. I take it on empty stomach first thing in AM with hot coffee. sometimes I split dose AM/PM.
also helps to take good omega3's daily in a complete form. I use Carlsons' Finest fish oil. cheaper to get the bottle, not caps.

Phenocane seriously helps, if taken daily. used to feel achey after missing one and 2 days. Now that I've been diligent for a long time, pains are slower to return if I run out.
it's not like a deadening drug, but a huge difference. and if I aggravate an injury and pain pops through, I can take a bit extra and IT WORKS.

another important thing is, get a tempurpedic mattress. truly miraculous to sleep without pain, it makes your days better too..

you may have damage to the tissues surrounding ribs. if you can find a therapist with gifted hands doing myofascial release techniques, it may work wonders.

Thanks for the replies. I live in Connecticut. Weed is somewhat legal but still carries a penalty if caught with it. Really just a lesser charge. Petspoiler I'm going to look into the therapy first before I start any meds. I think swimming might be the way to go. It would help with my bad knee and shoulder.
