Sounds like a plan to me, soon as the DIY starts no tank is ever big enough

Seriously though, unless you're going for the good quick easy metal framed paddling pool for your 500 (intex do a 7x5x2 which is spot on for that just don't try and get the damned thing back in the box when finished with it, it's impossible) i'd start working on planning the build now. They take a good while even for the small ones.

haha already ahead of ya friend, got the plans all figured out im thinkin a dimension of 8ft long 4ft wide and 2.5 to 3 ft deep, glass front would be the front of a broken 125 measuring 6ft by 1.5ft

Will be too late then, he'll be in a growth spurt at that size and that's when he'll need removing and your tinfoils will definately be at risk if they're still with him. For a growth rate comparison, my largest RTCxTSN hybrid which has similar growth to RTC went from 4" to 18" in just a couple of months and caused the instant requirement of an intex pool.
