I have 2 36" coralife dual t5's on my 6ft Festae tank. I still have the stock 10k & actinic. What is the best light set-up for these fish. I was thinking of going 10k & 50/50. my current set up is a bit blue... drowns out the red of fish.

No. 10k white bulbs is the closest you can get to pure "white" imo... If something looks yellow it's because it is supposed to.

I have never used Colormax. Personally I like to use 10k bulbs because it's "pure white" so whatever I see under that lighting is the real deal... if my fish don't look colorful enough then I'll have to give them a better diet, better water quality, and work with them until they color up the way I want.

Colored lights feel like cheating and look unnatural. But that's just my opinion.

Just try different mixes and see what you like. Most if not all stores will exchange the bulbs if you keep the receipt with you, doesn't matter if the package is opened. I went thru at least 10 different types of bulbs until I settled with 10k... without spending any extra money.

I've tried aqueon, zoo med and Coralife. imo coralife is the best, and the price is almost the same.
