Best Lighting for Festae

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hmm u can go with all 10k but i like to have a lil natural look to my tank to have a lil yellow in the light

I have a lot of driftwood in the water so the tanic acid makes sure i always have a bit of yellow... its yellow even with the 10k... im afraid with 6700K it would be piss. Even with the 10k/actinic it makes it look white to slightly yellow. but the reflection of all the blue light off of red, orange, green fish looks pretty bad.

Seachem's Purigen sucks the tannins (and dissolved fish waste) like it's going out of business. Your water will be crystal clear in a few days - and it's rechargeable. Good stuff.

Thanks for the help but i went out and got enough driftwood to make all the tanic acid. i like the look of it. if i ever get tired of it ill try the purigen. im more worried about the wood running out of tanic acid than me getting tired of the look tbh tho. I went out and got the 10k's and im happy with the purchase. thanks for the advice. MFK is always the wtg. Researching on google has fooled me too many times.

Yeah, I really only like the 10k/act. for my JD. Lookes ok for my male Festae as well with all the blue dots.

If you have a female, I agree. Go 10k all the way.

10k/act is great for jd, and anything predominantly blue. For Red and Orange fish not so much. Even the speckles on the male festae that are a cyan color are way brighter under the 10k than the 50/50. plus if i ever swap out fish or get another tank with blue fish ill have the 2 extra acts laying around... put them in the box the 10k's came in to keep them safe.
