Best lights????

I just put these on my 450g. I believe the freshwater light is rated at 6750k.

The greens popped immediately.

I am about ready to order some T5s. Question on the lights linked above - can you remove the 4 legs and just have them sit on top of the lid?

Yep, the legs don't come attached. Its a pain to attach the legs. I put a set on to see what it looked like, but I wasn't a fan so I took them back off.

Nice. I think I'm gonna order them. I was looking at the Novas on a different site, but they are even cheaper on the site you linked.

petmountain should have a 10% coupon code - I think its "gift" but am not sure. You should be able to google for coupon codes if you go that route.

yeah youre right, didnt realize that. to be honest im not crazy about the nova light fixtures. i have one and theyre built like crap and the paper-thin foil reflector is a joke. these look to have some higher quality reflectors which means more light in the tank. but i havent used this myself. my next lights will be these, wanna give them a try

Those do look nice. I've never seen them before. The nova extremes get hot. It burns a little bit when you touch the black housing after they've been on for a long time.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm gonna wait 'til after Christmas to make sure no one actually got me lights, then I will choose between these two brands.
