Cryptoheros nanoluteus ain't bad either, if you like yellow.

or Acarichthys if you like fin extensions

or Guianacara if you like brown humorous looking fish, in Guyana they are called an Old Wife

Or if your taste bends into the prehistoris motif

They're all beautiful depending on your state of mind

In the UK Nandopsis haitiensus is often sold as a "dinosaur" fish, it is thought to be one of the most primitive of the new world cichlids, a fossil was found in Hispaniola probably dating back to the Pleistocene era, closely resembling the N haitiensus, but called Cichlasoma woodringi. It is thought that because its island isolation, it has remained unchanged for a very long time, and may be the ancestor of all the preditory new world cichlids, such as Parachromis.
I have never seen a Prehistoris motif.

Big fish, Id have to go with Excichlasoma pearsei

Medium, Guianacara are probably my favorite. Although its a subtle beauty.

Small, Apistogramma and Nannacara anomala. I love the N. anomala females when they a guarding, the black and yellow is sick.

So lets say I have an empty 125g tank... what should the stock be?
