I try to make sure I let all of the water drain out of the hose as much as I can and then coil it up. It is not as rigid as a standard heavy duty hose so it may be a little more prone to kinks. So far it has been about a year and I have none.

Anyone tried one of those collapsible hoses?

That's what I use. For filling it is by far my favorite hose. For draining I have a regular crappy piece of garden hose.
