I don't have any Rays but this is one of the most active sections (personally I am trying to feed better meats for my VATF, other than pellets).

Most people feed Market Shrimp and I was wondering if there is a better "Meaty" food.

IE: Salmon, Sword Fish, Scallops, Crap, Lobster etc...

Out of the common things in the Market's, what is best to feed your Rays?

I was tempted to buy some Red Salmon and Lobster but don't know if its to Oily for fish etc...

Thanks, also I just made my first batch of FireMedics Gelatin stuff (hopefuly it comes out good :D) w/shrimp, nightcrawlers and Cichlid Gold.

You can use that gelatin recipe and mix and match any food you want. Shrimp, fish fillets, earthworms/blackworms/blood worms, etc. Variety is key. You can even add some vitamins if you want, to make up for whatever has been destroyed by the length of time the animal has been dead.

Sorry, not what I am asking :D. Maybe I asked wrong??
I want to know what Meaty Foods are better than Market Shrimp :D

I like to feed tilapia. It comes in bags of individually sealed filets at the grocery.Nice clean non oily fish and cheaper than shrimp.

I feed my vatf the same foods my rays eat; tilapia, shrimp and worms

Oh yeah, Tilapia is part of my guys diet also :D.

Looking for some feedback on the other stuff like Salmon, Tuna, Lobster etc...

Are they to high on Oils, price is to high etc... Like it was said, variety is key and I am trying to expand on that with a better choice of "Trying" rather than get something and risk harming him :)

I would stick with cheaper freshwater fish. No need to use lobster etc unless you just want to. I've also given pangasius fillet which is cheap but a little messier than tilapia.

I will try this :D

I avoid red meat fish, trout, salmon etc, too greasy. Tilapia is my fav.

Ahh, these are things I was looking for :D

So aside from Tilapis and Shrimp, what other Meaty foods do you feed?
