nice Jds everyone i think Camp has a good point though, if no one saw Jer's post a few weeks back advising not to post picture threads in the cichlid section as it just takes up room

my Female JD is weak sauce right now, still hasnt darkened up at like 6"

I sold it @ 7" for $15 a few months back, they got too common for me after I found a real fish store.

thanks for the backup, have you tried changing the substrate around to darken up your jack dempsey?

nah man i just have them on pool filter sand, the male is real dark though and the female still has the juvie colors.... deffinitely not worthing changing to a darker substrate though lol

here is a pic of mine, it is right after a water change so she's a little stressed out. she's about 5", had her since October 2006

Here is a better shot of my 9 inch female. I am not the best camera man, but her colors are nicer than I seem to be able to capture on camera.
