if my favorite movie is my favorite movie, why would it not be the best movie for me? and who is anyone to say that i'm wrong? they can disagree, but they can't argue what my opinion is can they?

Well, I could say that my favorite movie of the year is Shutter Island, but then also say that the best movie of the year in almost every aspect of film-making (casting, acting, directing, etc) would be The Social Network.

To me the difference between favorite and best is very obvious, but I see your point and don't really feel like getting into semantics over movie opinions.
