the stone roses although i dont like ian brown much as a solo artist.
the inspiral carpets were good too and i have met Tom Hingley a couple of times, he's a really nice bloke.
for a single artist then Prince is pretty hard to beat, well ahead of his time, 90's music done in the 80's.

when Im not listening to Gwen Stefani, Panic at the Disco, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna some Carlos Santana and Europe sooth my mood.
