ok -the massivore:ROFL::ROFL:is because i consider it a joke food-its just koi food with mono-sodium glutamate added (msg=a flavour enhancer that in humans forces the saliva glands to over produce and causes cancer).
read the pack guys the other ingredients are no different to any run of the mill fish food for 10x the price.
the = feeders claim is also very misleading - if you read the pack it tells you the weight of the feeder and its like a small neon!
you should vary the feed for your fish and if you are using pellets as a main food i suggest jmc cat pellets and trout pellets.

massivore-:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::cry::cry::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:ok?

I just know that all my fish which eat it have grown ALOT more than the ones that dont,if you can point me int the direction of a product that you say is the same then im willing to try it.
But ive tried most things.
Also i used to feed all my fish jmc catfish pellets but it makes such a mess when it breaks down i only feed that when ive ran out of all the other foods.
id prefer not to spend that much on a bag of food but the results are there to see in my tank so il carry on,they also love the sinking cichlid gold pellets too.

Steve

Steve you say the fish are enthusiastic but that is because of the msg.
if the jmc pellets are getting time to break down like that ,you are feeding too much or at the wrong time or have old pellets.
the only fish i have that will touch massivore are my clown loaches-none of my cats or even the blue lobster seem to recognise it as food!
and to cap it off its far more expensive than wet food (unless you are feeding langoustines and oysters:D) and as we all know "the wetter the Better".
obviously massivore is one of my pet hates in fish-keeping ,even the packaging annoys me with the picture of the rtc that would need several packs for one feed, the only other products that piss me off as much are jewel aquariums for some of the same reasons -massively over price and not fit for purpose. :( :nilly::angryfire:yuck::crazy:

haha. We come on here to compliment your fish, and all you can do is get all butt-hurt about a pellet we feed our fish sometimes. Some people just come on here to start fights I guess.:grinno:

The same bag of Massivore has lasted me over a year because I don't feed it very often. I do know that the bottom feeders I have had love this stuff because of the potent smell. My Irwini loves it, my Blue Lobster loves it, and my past bottom feeders all loved it.

Your reply makes it sound like me and spwd feed it as a staple to all our fish. It is just one of many pellets I have sitting under my fish tanks.

Chill out dude, and learn to take a compliment about your fish.

I agree^^
and yes they are enthusiastic but they go just as mad for algae wafers and cichlid gold etc, also itsnot just the cats that like it an GROW ALOT because of it,my polys and dat are huge and they dont just eat massivore.
But the ones who do are the biggest
I do agree with you about the bag and the rtc,its the same on the hikari floating sticks with the silver aro on,which my rtg loves but would demolish a bag in about a week if i let him,i have thought about writing to hikari about,if your going to make a food for big predators why not sell a broody big bag

steve

Ok but can you tell me what product you said was the same please buddy so i can get some,is it another hikari prroduct such as the koi products which are alot cheaper or another make?
I want to save money the same as the next man lol

Steve

What i was saying was that apart from the msg there are no ingredients in Hikari products that are not in almost every other food out there-if you shop at wharf aquatics at all, ask them for some "Dai-suki royal" sinking pellets, these are marketed as a high quality koi growth food and are available in several pellet sizes.
BUT you will probably have to starve the fish for a while to get past the msg problem ,however once you get them on to these you can try adding other things in like trout pellets-which are higher in oils -so seem to suit scavenger types better than all out predators so they are good for dorrids and giraffe cats ect.:D

obviously i expect 50 percent of any money you save:naughty:
