Just looking for best food to feed my Oscar hes on some Vitalis cichlid pellet at the moment and the occasional frozen brineshrimp im looking for food that will really bring out his red colours and darken his black colours too! thanks all

Fresh shrimp and food designed for flowerhorns or blood parrots usually does the trick.
Use dark substrate or black background to bring out black colors.

Freeze dried krill or anything with astaxanthin. The black colors will change depending on type of oscar and its mood. There's no making the black permanent.
Thanks guys ill try some fresh shrimp and ill look into some foods with astaxanthin. Thankfully i already have a dark background and substrate so hopefully that starts to help too
Fellow oscar keeper here.. Like said, their coloration is going to mostly depend on the substrate, background, decor, lighting and the overall health and happiness of the fish.
To me, the best staple food for oscars is hikari bio gold + medium floating pellets. Has to be the plus version with the probiotics. After they poop, their turds turn to dust.

I would suggest try freeze dried krill.

Krill. Like everyone else says. Hey. When these two aren’t at loggerheads the big one is doing the shamu around the tank and jumping out on the straightaways for freeze dried krill.
