Best Paint for Black Background?

any black paint will work...it also doesnt matter if its flat or gloss it looks the same when looking into the tank...it even doesnt matter if you runout of one can and use another that is a different finish. Look in the lessons learned section...I posted a oppsy i did when spraying my 240.
I like the idea of latex paint tho...I never tried it but I might on the next one I paint. I always use black but being able to peel it off later for whatever reason seems nice.

I used art acrylic and a tiny roller. (I had it around.) Worked fine. I think the key with any paint is light coats with thorough drying between applications.
$1 can of flat black from homedepot.. flat black does not reflect and does not shine which takes away from the fish..
following the directions on the can is key.. it really is best to do several thin layers vs one thick layer

Flat, gloss, semi-gloss all look the same when you're looking at them through a piece of glass.
Krylon Fusion is the brand-du-jour because they advertise it on TV. Its *great* for plastics, because it bonds to plastic. But on glass Its the same as the bargain brand from walmart.
If you're going to paint plastic, use Fusion. Otherwise its all pretty much the same.
