any black paint will work...it also doesnt matter if its flat or gloss it looks the same when looking into the tank...it even doesnt matter if you runout of one can and use another that is a different finish. Look in the lessons learned section...I posted a oppsy i did when spraying my 240.
I like the idea of latex paint tho...I never tried it but I might on the next one I paint. I always use black but being able to peel it off later for whatever reason seems nice.
I used art acrylic and a tiny roller. (I had it around.) Worked fine. I think the key with any paint is light coats with thorough drying between applications.
Flat, gloss, semi-gloss all look the same when you're looking at them through a piece of glass.
Krylon Fusion is the brand-du-jour because they advertise it on TV. Its *great* for plastics, because it bonds to plastic. But on glass Its the same as the bargain brand from walmart.
If you're going to paint plastic, use Fusion. Otherwise its all pretty much the same.
there is no difference between flat and gloss...I used both on one tank. I used one and had a issue where some pealed up. I only had a different finish so I tried it out and you 100% can not tell the difference when looking through the front of the tank.
