Krylon Fusion. Stay away from the Lowes Valspar brand.

ditto, i painted the trim on my tank with krylon fusion in black and it worked great. i used some 400 grit sand paper to smoother it over and to give the paint something more to stick to, make sure you clean and prep it well

Thanks guys,

Krylon fusion it is as we have no Lowe's here anyway, but i've seen the krylon everywhere.

This stuff will bond without primer?

also, with the pvc syphon systems I see, do I need a aqualifter pump for the syphon hose off the top ? is that how that works? dont wanna start another topic just to clarify this.

Thanks, again! love this site!

Ditto on the fusion, it works great.
I've used the PVC overflows without the aqualifter, but I feel much better when I have one. It's very cheap insurance. If you have fish that create some waves I would use an aqualifter for sure. Also, on the aqualifter, don't forget the little filter that goes with it:)

Thanks sounds good, as my fish are wave makers, i'll be sure to get the filter for it also.

and last question of the day.......

pipe cement is not harmful when dry correct? this will be okay to connect the pvc pipes?

General Purpose PVC cement is fine. Typically, if it's safe for potable water or food contact surfaces, it's safe for fish.

So if im reading this right i can use krylon for something that will go IN my tank?

As long as it's fusion I know it'll work. I've never tried any other type since the fusion works.
