From my experience..

Omega one, NLS, kens.com, hikari.

but varied diet is the best. Omega one super veggie flake is by far the best thing I've used for color. Then comes omega one pellets, and NLS pellets.

i feed hikari bio pure krill along with cichlid gold. my jd went from a whitish look to black and my oscar is as black as night now
hikari bio pure krill isn't a pellet but its easily swallowed.
