BEST PETCO I'VE EVER SEEN

Some of my most surprising Petco finds over the years:

Mud moray ("freshwater")
Silver aro
ABF
Mudskippers (Most surprising, in my opinion)
Cardisoma freshwater crab sp.

So, nothing crazy in general, but pretty cool for Petco.

The one I’m talking about I’ve seen silver aro, TSN, clown knife, gulpers, black belts, scromberoids payara, green phantoms, Cichla hybrids, ornate bichirs, crenicichla sp Venezuela

My brother was recently at one and said they had a g. Tile in full strength marine! I’m honestly surprised they knew it needed salt.

....out of curiosity has anyone spotted any datnoids? I don't think I've ever seen any at Petco.

One of the Petcos near by me had a fair amount of relatively uncommon fish for about a month at dirt-cheap prices- marbled sand gobies for $4, banded archerfish for $8, ropefish for $12, clown knives for $10, congo tetras for $3, and whatnot. Sadly, they stopped getting the oddballs and have since deteriorated in quality. They still get a few nice TC plants every now and then, though.
There was a nice Petco in Virginia somewhere (forgot the specific location) that had violet gobies, red-bellied piranhas, G. tile (sadly in full fresh), freshwater needlefish, fire eels and other spiny eel species, black pacu, and some other fish; which was pretty surprising, as their fish section was rather small. It's been many a year since I've visited that store, and I don't know if they still sell exotics there.

I don't no about now but Petco would special order for you. I worked for a big box store and the assistant manager specialed ordered fish for me. Segrest Farm was their supplier at the time.

The petco closest to me is a disaster, I am not sure how they are still operating because I have never seen more than two employees at a time and all the fish that they do have (mostly platies, glofish, etc) are in bad shape every time I have gone in. It's a shame because I pass it on the way back from work everyday.

However, there is a petco about thirty minutes from me that has a really good selection and generally healthy fish. I know I have seen some albino polypterus, freshwater needlefish, a few different cichlids that you wouldn't expect at a petco, a good saltwater section, and I believe arowana, but don't quote me on that. I remember they still had a bunch of yellow tangs left for the normal $30 or so price months after they had shot up to insane prices because of the ban.
