It isn't the same as the Baltimore one, but you might want to check out the DC National Aquarium. It will be closing in a few weeks.

The arboreal gardens are really nice. All the Smithsonian museums are cool. They have the Holocaust museum. The Lincoln memorial, WWII, WWI and Korean war are all close together. Lots of cool stuff in DC.

I would skip the aquarium for the Smithsonian. There are many better aquariums elsewhere in US, but there are no better group of Museums in US than the Smithsonian.
