As we all know, the fish we love are a constant expense. I love to get new stuff for my aquariums, or even browse for new cool stuff, plan future aquariums, check out new fish, etc. I'm sure it stresses my wife every time I say: "I'm just going to the fish store to pick something up!" , and come back with and armfull of stuff!

My latest, greatest to my wife was:

"If I don't get a new 50g, my fish will eat each other!

Let's hear your best scenario/excuse to your better half, or even yourself for that matter!

Would'nt that look pretty there Honey.
I used that when I first set up my tank, but then my wife saw the feeders being eaten!

My GF is totally accepting of my hobby, granted shes into it pretty hardcore to :) Doesnt really take any convincing. When we move out together in the next year or so(have to get out of collegel and find a job) we have plans to buy a bare minimum of a 8*3*2.5 tank and move alot of our current fish into...muchless the random others which we will accumulate Im sure. She goes the the LFS with me every week and actually encourages my spending on my scaled pets.

I've used the sin of getting what I want for my 270..."Honey... AJ(My son) really went crazy when he saw it and you know that the fish I have won't last forever in the little tiny tank over there... (Points to 50 gallon)...." she lets him have anything ... so I make it seem like it's his idea ;) .... I'm going to hell

Worst part is ... he's only 1

My wife has a huge heart for anything that wiggles. She feeds every dog and cat in the neighborhood. I simply point out that if we do not get the proper tank for our little friends...then we will have to release them into some creek or pond...and someone will probably catch them while they are fishing.

She caves in everytime.

HA ha. No more husband, all I have to do is count my dollars, and I can get whatever I want!!!:grinno:

my method is, its easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

I have a very stressful job and before I had fish I was always short tempered when I came home. So she really doesn't care because they are very relaxing to sit and watch. But when I ask her to help me get something out of the truck, she says, 'what is it another fish tank'. ;):):naughty::naughty:

This is the product of our begging.
