Mines is always at 80° with no heater:D

Yeah right?? It's really warm in my apartment in the summer, and I'm noticing with my heater turned down to it's lowest that my temp is like 85.I have to unplug it for a while till the temps start going below 78.

I try for 78 According to some breeders Lower tempature increases the number of females, too low and theyll stop breeding

For me, it depends on the tank. some as low as 74, some at 80. I think there is some substance to the thought of them not breeding at 78 and below.

78, may flucuate and couple degrees in either direction depending on the season. I have grown out Fronts in my pond in the summer. Highest recorded temp. in the pond was 82-84 in mid August.

yea same here...the 210tank in my app is about 82 ...but the 75gallon up there by my mom ..she so cheap , she not turn the AC on so its about 84 ..all my fish still alive ....

Heh, whatever room temp is. I figure they live in temps that I am comfortable in nature. So I might as well save on the electricity bills. (So that tends to be from 75-80).
