Best replacement for 2 HOB filters?

I use alot of the ATI hydrospnges and they are terrific filters.

Use the pro 4 or 5.You are going to want a powerhead to run it if you are looking for a quieter filter than the hob.Using it with an airstone will be noisier than a hob.

Air does not come in contact with canisters or HOB filters...

There is oxygen in the water for cannisters. What about biowheel filters? AC110s are far from completely silent.

How do you modify the sponge to use a powerhead?

You don’t modify, Just stick the power head in the top of the tube. It sucks through the sponge then blows into the tank.
