Best sand for a Geophagus Tank ?

Has anyone ever found a nice dark brown sand ? I don't want white sand and was actually looking for something a little bigger than sand ( easier to keep out of the filter). I picked up some nice Geophagus neambi last weekend at the Akron club auction and want to set up a biotope type tank for them. Tank will be a 55 gal with a nice amount of drift wood and some floating plants.

Have you looked at play sand? I believe it's darker and bigger then Pool Filter Sand.

Play sand is smaller and lighter than pfs. Pfs is the way to go

I am currently using PFS and it's rather light and fine.

pfs is what i used when i had some red hump geos.

I'm looking for something A little darker. The light color of the plat sand/ pfs seem to wash the colors out.

Thanks, I don't think the PFS washed them out. The black background helps with contrast.
