I have some apistogramma in tanks with light colored sand and they seem not to color up as nice as the ones I keep on darker substrate, being this is in my living room I want them to look as good as possible. The tank has a black background and currently has tanish sand in it, looks like I'll just go with what i have in there already since yours look pretty dang good.
