Best Sand Substrate?

I completely agree with F1 on this one. Pool sand is the best rout to take. It's cheap, the right color, granule size is perfect and it doesn't cloud or mud up.

sounds like I'm buying some Pool Filter Sand tomorrow then lol I kinda knew that it would lead to that type, but since I don't use sand too much I just wanted to get others opinions on it before I tried something new

I wish I could add another Option to the List and that would be [h=1]CaribSea Instant Aquarium Torpedo Beach[/h]Love the grain size as it does not get sucked into filters at all and is great for rays and all fish, yes cost is a little but it sure is worth it.

It would be nice to use some good sand, but I'm not going crazy on this tank money wise. I am putting most of my budget into the 225g once I get the 55g up and running. My fish are getting pretty large and are in need of an upgrade soon.
