Best single fish for 55g

I want one fish (doesn't have to be rare) that gets to an ok size for a 55gallon aquarium. I'm looking for one with a nice personality and minor aggression, but won't try to kill me like my managuense does.

for a 55G, get a severum, either green, gold, red spot, etc.
very active fish, always begs for food, and relatively mild-tempered.

This question is obviously subjective and its up to your personal taste...if it was me and the fish has to be a predator I'd go with a big angler/frogfish as a solo display...but for personality you can't go wrong with something like chocolate cichlid or paratilapia
