My Fahaka ate, pellets, raw shrimp (from super market) raw tilapia, crayfish, snails, mussels, and ghost shrimp. They need food to wear down their teeth so hard crunchy food, I used to try to breed my crayfish but it was a pain and not fast enough so I ended up going to fish market and buying 2 lbs of live that I would freeze and dump in for it to eat. Fahaka are really a single fish in a tank kinda fish. Mine when 4 inches killed my 7 inch pleco but I hear Mbu can be kept with some fish. It's really neat to watch em swim and eat kinda reminded me of a dog

My personal favorite is the golden cobra snakehead. They cost a good bit though. You dont have to worry about it I dont think, but they frown upon having snakeheads here. I didnt do my research & got one that they confiscated then murdered right in front of me. Along with a HEFTY fine & a lot of interrogation. I might as well threw a stack in the fireplace

golden cobra are common here in the uk, 50 quid for a 12 incher!-)

sound cool, i will kep an eye out and see if they spark my interest

yeah black and golds are cool, aka golden cobra aka Channa aurantimaculata... not sure on their appetite tho, like i say diplogramma are the reds smaller better looking cousin, rare as heck though and max out about 2ft. red do get huge if kept properly, theres some vids on you tube of a member on here who had three at 32inches in a 9ft tank iirc... emperor snakeheads are cool and max out about 2ft, i love my wyckii but due to aggression its defo a love hate relationship... i had him in a 100g and apart from his digging and biting the hose he was pretty boring if im honest, they sit around alot. and no he is just picky, might be just my one but thats my experience. why not get an asian aro, they are real greddy and top out about 30inch in captivity!-) i know you said no p's but dillywoods has a real nice black piranha atm at 10inch and a gorgeous 12 inch rtgg... could do the rtgg and an already 2ft apurensis, the one i linked is sold but chris has it (from natures rare aquatics on aq classifieds) he lives in rochester and will deliver it to ya, he is asking 80 quid now tho!!! cheeky sod. many catfish keepers claim them to be the coolest catfish hands down, like a mini rtc personality wise and prehistoric looking from my research, ive been toying with the idea but scared he will eat my cichlids.

yea i am definitely going to be looking into a few snakeheads, yea most of the catfish i like re kind of lazy lol i have looked into asian aros but they are so expensive and complicated to get i lost interest :( yea he has brought some fish of me and tripled the price as soon as he lists them! o'well i guess if he can then why not... i haven't been to dikkywoods in months, it sounds like i need to get down there lol

i really do like snakeheads! and most of them are fairly cheap here :) yes it totally legal to keep them in the uk luckily, its a shame the the actions of stupid people got them banned in the other places. that sucks man, i would hate for that to happen to me :(

Emperor snakehead. I'd do a pair though.
