IMe Delz experience more problem than any other bichir...they demand very clean water...

What's that white one next to the albino in your picture!?

While we're on the subject of small bichirs,

Can you stunt their growth by keeping in a smaller tank first?

i guess so.... most fish do get stunted when kept in small tank, you know, except for some guppies and maybe even mollies on a 10G tank of course.

I have experienced keeping 3-4" sen in my 10g tank when I was 13... I kept her for a year in my 10g she grew up to 7" in 6months and got slower and slower after each month... She ended up 10" for a year and didn't grew anymore... Even when I bought my 1st big tank (55g)... Until now when she is in my 250g tank, she is still 10"... She is now my Oldest Fish...

I came across a better deal on a 60 gal and its in my living room!!!

Of the "small" bichirs... I want 'em all, especially the Palmas!!!
But I can't find anyone carrying Palmas bichirs in san diego:cry: so...

Thinking about doing: 3 polys (1 sen, 1 albino sen, 1 del), 1 bg knife,
and later add 3 or 4 chiclids (1 jack dempsey, 2 or 3 geophagus to sift sand).

 Will that work??? would adding a fire eel be too much?

Has anyone heard of using geophagus "eartheater" cichlids to help eat leftover sinking food from feeding bichirs?
