Best Solo-kept fish

What would be, in your opinion, the coolest fish to keep in a tank by itself? I'm trying to decide on the predator I want... I want a solitaire monster.

Right now the only thing I've come up with is a rhom.

I guess it depends on what your looking for. I would need something interactive to keep as a solo pet and theres not to many fish more interactive than a large aggressive cichlid. If you not interested in them then get a puffer mbu or fahaka.

What size tank do you have, or can go up to? Do you want a wet pet / predator or just a straight predator?

The tank more depends on the fish I end up searching for. I have an empty 20 gallon that could be used for a grow out tank. And with some moving around of my fish, I could have a 29 gallon or a 75 gallon that could also be grow out tanks or permanent homes.

I'm looking for a straight up predator. I don't really want a wet pet, as I have other animals to fill that need.
