That is a regular dwarf puffer (Carinotetraodon travancoricus) which should be kept in 100% freshwater... so if possible, maybe you should acclimate your puff back to freshwater if possible, since i'm not sure how happy he/she is in brackish...

Oh and a Hairy Puffer (Monotrete Baileyi) is another semi lurker species of puffer so they may or may not do much in a tank...

BW will kill a DP.

^ Yeah, i definitely miss my little fella... he was originally a RED one too... although it took me a little too long to get home that day and he changed color by the time i got home and couldn't get him back to his bright red state...

Either way, congo's are still probably the most interesting looking puffer i've ever seen/owned...

There's a guy near me selling an orange one for $15. I think I'll be getting it!

ya the dwarfs died a few years back. i think i might go with the hairy or the red eye. not many people have red eyes. if the red eye is a bad choice pls let me know now. i can easily get a F8

^ well, F8's are low end brackish not completely freshwater, so if you don't mind setting up a brackish tank then F8's can be a good choice, since they are sort of peaceful compared to something like the hairy puffer...

But at the end of the day it really all comes down to which puffer you like most, since their care levels are all more or less the same, just that some are lurkers, some are active and some need really big tanks while a few might need teeth trimming...

Neither the hairy nor the red eye, will tolerate tank mates of any kind.
