My stand is 30" tall, I should've gone a bit taller I think. I can't reach the back of the tank unless I stand on a chair and mine is 24" tall, standard 180 gallon and I'm 5' 10".

How many gallons is your sump? My only problem with using a 55 gal for a sump is it will take up 4ft. of the 6ft. I will have in the stand. I wish I had kept the 40gal breeder tank I had. That would have worked out great!
