best time to fish?

We're speaking in general here. Fish are typically more active at dawn and dusk, as is most wildlife. When is deer hunting best? Dawn and dusk. When is bird watching best? Dawn and dusk. This is especially true in summer when animals are trying to avoid the heat of the day. It is also when the food sources of most fish are most active and most fish come in towards shore at these times. Granted you can catch fish, hunt deer and watch birds all day long but we're talking about level of activity here. I have always had the best of luck fishing at dawn and dusk. Now you can change your tactics and improve you chances that way but these really are the best times if you're looking to catch the most fish with the least amount of work.

fish are feeding the most in early morning or late afternoon. It depends on the season, but that's what it's motly like.
bluegill will hit usually anytime of the day but those 2 times are BEST.

And when fishing topwater baits, early morning and night is best since the bass are trying to feed on the baitfish on top, that are trying to eat the insects above the water.(ever seen a swarm of bugs on the water surface?)

fishing is supposed to be best at full and new moon. my dads got a watch and he runs around going OH 4 FISH, ITS A GOOD FISHING DAY. i cant see that being a real effect on fishing tho. i guess anything is possible tho.
