Have tried clear, prazi, and metro. Not going crazy with the dosages. Using as directed. It has been 2 weeks since he has eaten. As soon as I noticed some white poo, did the Epsom soaked food. He ate the Epsom soaked food for about a week. Symptoms progressed. Thinking maybe I missed on diagnosis. Would appreciate some ideas. Thanks!image.jpeg

white stringy poo is a tough one. We typically think parasites which are possible. Prazi does not get all of them. You could try levamisole for callamanus worms or metro for hex. Hate to say other things to worry about are internal organ issues like the liver. Can you put him in quarantine tank? Is he still not eating?

Just quarantined him yesterday. Did not want to stress him any further. Still not eating. Been forcing food/meds by injection as well. Running out of ideas. He is our first fh, and the family is pretty attached to him. Thanks for replying.

He is about 8-9 inches, thinking he might need a little stronger dose of meds due to his size. I have beat ich a few times, this is in another league. He was in the main tank with 3 clown loaches who have showed no signs of anything throughout this.

Are you dosing right??? The 3% epsom salt soaked pellet treatment outlined in the hex sticky hasn't failed me. You did it from the start? I've had fish that i've treated with the epsom soaked pellets that looked WAY worse than yours? Weird that clear, prazi, and metro didn't do it?

He got on the Epsom pellets as soon as I caught it. Could have been a few days since it started. He ate them for 3-5 days. Throughout the medicated feeding period, he slowly stopped accepting them.

The Epsom soak treatment would have been great. I did tons of reading throughout the last month or so. Sounds like that treatment is by far the best for the fish. The picture I posted was from a few weeks ago. I showed it to my lfs in hopes of getting a new perspective.

Weird. The ones that I treated with the 3% Epsom salt solution soaked pellets never stopped eating them. If anything at first they were a bit hesitant. Near the third to fifth day they ate them with gusto. Flowerhorn are weak fish genetically. I hope you figure out what's wrong and he pulls through. Not your fault. You've gone above and beyond. I don't know... Maybe try clout? Somebody has to have some good advice for you...

a tough battle. He is fighting like a champ. Tough to gauge the line of too many meds and stress for him. was thinking of pulling off of meds and just using crushed pellets and Epsom directly to his gut moving forward. Not sure if I want to keep medicating him. Would be much easier if would accept any kind of food. I have tried all kinds of food, even his favorite treats, no luck.
