That African was brought over by another member (not mentioning the name) and asked that I feed it to my Peacock Bass because he wanted to see it. So I in no way make this a regular thing. I just fed it because he anted it to be fed to the Cichla. That African was getting beaten upon by his Central Americans and he had no where else to put it.
My take feeding fish.. Fish is a Fish and Fish eat Fish. For most of us feeder goldfish are just feeders. To others they may be the most beautiful fish in the world. So what gives you the right to tell them the goldfish's life isn't worth as much as any other fish I choose to feed. If you can afford to buy expensive feeders then by all means do so. Want to feed fish pellets? Well did you know that pellets are also made out of fish meal? Hmmm feeding shrimp? Now a little shrimp had to die just becuase you wanted to feed it to your fish?
Don't say that the video is cruel the Cichla killed and ate the african in the same way it would have eaten any other fish in the wild.
To those that enjoyed the video thanks. To those that didn't, Well I definitely think you're in the wrong site. Maybe you guys need to keep fish that only eats veggies and Spirulina. Oh wait.....vegetables had to die too.

Forgot to mention that the fish that are killed and made into fish meal to make into the pellets you feed your fish probably suffered.
They probably caught them in large trawling nets then dump onto a ship without water only to either die of suffocation or from the weight of all the other fish piling on top of them.

Then take it from someone who has kept africans. I love africans and I've bred them before. But when you start having too many africans. Using some of them as feeders isn't a bad idea.

Yeah that sucked but it didn't go to waste. They ate, digested and pooped out the whole dovii.
Now if the dovii killed the pbass he probably would have just killed it and not eat it. Now that would have gone to waste.
