That's a nice list. I'm sure most of them if not all of them have eaten feeders or fish food containing fish meal.

Thanks.

yeah if that was your point some of them(think pbass only) ate some feeders when I first got them.. I don't feed feeders because it's just easier not to, I understand the food cycle. And I understand fish meal in food. So I have no problem with feeders.

And again I respect you as a fishkeeper/person, some people on this site and any site might have different views of feeding live. Don't take it as a personal attack. Some people did go way overboard with their comments. I wouldn't consider you a sicko.. lol Just say it's not for everyone. :)

Oh no offense taken. I think people react so quickly when they see videos like that and forget to sit and think for a while. I mean if someone wants to use pbass as feeders for piranhas then go ahead.

BTW Have u gotten ur Barramundi to take pellets? They are easy to train.

He eats raw shrimp right now(about 10-12 small sized maybe a day?) so I'm ok with that.. Although to feed him right it costs me probably 10.00 a week.. it would cost alot to get him on pellets(if you're thinking hikari/etc) unless I bought in bulk but that is an idea. For right now if I feed cichlids in the same tank pellets he doesn't have any interest..

you shoulod seperate it and starve it a bit he will then recognize your hand coming to the top of the tank. eventually he wil strike anything that hits the wate. he will spit it out at first but later when he gets used to the hard texting he will eat it. Later you can throw a bunch in and he will pick swallow them 1 by 1 on his own without you having to throw them in individually.

Sweet.. I might have to find some bulk pellets(something that comes in multiple lb bags) and try that.. Thanks. :)

Then take it from someone who has kept africans. I love africans and I've bred them before. But when you start having too many africans. Using some of them as feeders isn't a bad idea.

Spoken like a person who knows what it's like to have Africans coming out their ears lol!
I don't have much of a problem with the vid. The fact that some people turn it into an Old World vs. New world thing is beyond idiotic.
I think maybe though, a shot of [same species] cannibalism would be more realistic, and thus, more hardcore. The Cichla eating a dovii sounds just as good though. How come no one's got pix of that?!?!

I have no problem with the video, just with some of the defences. Several people said something along the lines of "it's natural... chain of life."

When's the last time you saw a pbass in the wild swimming along side an african?

Ever heard of Florida? :D
I have to agree with you, it's not a good argument. Cichla simply don't go around snapping up Pseudotropheus crabro in their natural habitat but the "Pbass swimming alongside an African" argument is vague and not the most accurate way to prove your point. I get it though lol.
