I would always say to go with the drip method. Ammonia, pH, and everything else has to do with the fish's osmoregulatory abilities. Some fish can adjust faster than others to certain parameters but dripping IMO is the best way. It takes more time but none of my fish have died in the drip buckets. Also, I doubt that the ammonia and pH have changed that much. They are shipped in the dark so they calm down and don't produce ammonia and the water is treated so that they don't feel the effects of the ammonia.
