BEST way to add more bio filtration?

man you should of said that at first ima pick up two spnge filters tomorrow and attach em to my powerhead. so, i should just calm down and let time do its work? eventually ill have a sufficient amount of bb colonies.

Put the sponges on the intake tubes and fill the chamber with bio-media.

yea actually i go to a lfs that does that. so might have to try that out.

Clean them frequently as they will quickly slow the flow rate of the filter as they collect waste/debris...

You may also want to stuff some quilt batting / filter fabric after the prefilter and before the bio media. Also monitor this closely and change as needed to prevent flow restriction...

id say to do some wc every couple days as well, just to get it down to your acceptable level. then get somemore bio media. vvvvvvvv

Actually if your filters have more than just filter pad and bio media, you can just remove whatever else you have, ie. carbon and add more bio media.
