Today I drained my 75 gallon to move it to take out my full size oscar I used a coolaid container because I dont have a net big enough. Anyways he started going crazy when I was trying to catch him and ended up ripping some scales off. Well tommorrow Im bringing home a 150 gallon that hes going to be going in thats why I had to move the 75 today to make room for that. What would be the best way to catch him tommorrow because I dont want him to hurt himself again. Thanks in advance to all that reply. The easiest way would be to drain the tank completly then just pick him up but I dont have to drain it because my terrors getting moved into the 75.

Buy a big net -- it's always good to have on or two around, anyway.

Go to walmart and buy a big plastic net. Those work the best because the ones made out of plastic are horrible and the fish usually get its fins stuck

Is this sarcasm? It's confusing.

You mean the net you would take fishing with you? If so I got one of those in the garage I could just clean it up and use that

It would probably work. The big net we have came from Bass Pro, so it's a fishing net, but it has small holes (almost like a mesh) so fish fins don't get stuck in it. It was hard to find, but totally worth it. One with bigger holes wouldn't work as well, but would avoid you trying to catch a freaked-out Oscar bare-handed LOL.

Do you mean me? If so, I was trying to say that I don't know what kind of net you have, but any net would be better than a replay of the last situation you described.

I think the main reason some of his scales came off was because he was smashing himself against the rocks so I think I'll take all the decor out first this time.
