Best way to clean beard algae off drift wood

Hopefully this weekend I will be able to give it a shot, is there any risk this could harm my fish ?

Never had any issues of it effecting the fish. I know several people myself included that have used this method. No issues. After application let it sit for at least 30 min. Then rinse it really well. Let it sit out for the rest of the day. Then return to the tank. No worries.
