I dunno bro this sounds like an OTS (old tank syndrome)bomb waiting to explode. I would do several small water changes instead of a larger one over a one week period. Stirring up flithy gravel can also become a problem. Good luck.
Exactly! Moving these fish in a bathtub could be fatal. I wouldn't start with a 50% water change. Do you know when the last time she cleaned it was?
One thing to note im sure you know but its worth mentioning is first scrape the glass with a glass cleaning pad and then gravel vac after. Start at the top work your way to the gravel. Rinse the filter media well (In tank water only)but do not replace it unless absolutely neccesary if that is the case then stagger which cartridge you change don't replace it all at once.

One thing to not is if you use your gravel vac and nets etc make sure to soak them in methyln blue (SP?) Or Malachite Green so you don't pick up any parasites or problems from her tank.

Start small with this tank and keep it gradual your nanna and her fish will appreciate you for it.

Do a 50% WC with as much of a gravel vac as possible. Try and get out a ton of the gunk. Try to follow up later with more WCs if possible.

this is what i would do ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Wow, lot of bad advice here. As COLDasICE mentioned, you need to be cautious of old tank syndrome. Do lots of frequent small water changes and cleanings. A large 50% w/c will likely kill the fish.
