Whats your phosphate levels like?

It usually grows when there is an over abundance of light and dissolved nutrients in the water.Do you have your tank lights on a good bit throughout the day or is the tank located near a window?

The Tank is in a conservatory but i always have the blinds closed and sometimes cover the tank in towels to keep light out,

The stock: 4 Channa Stewarti Cf Barca

Temp: 17 - 22 degrees

Lighting: From 4pm - 10pm

Need to check water parameters

How do i check phosphate levels?? sorry if thats a really noob question

Feed 1 cube of bloodworms daily all of which is consumed

Snakeheds dont require regular water changes, i have been advised to do them 4-5 times a year

Oh lord... Please do a wc. Yes snakeheads are atmospheric breathes but they still need water changes. Im pretty sure that's your problem right there. Put your flame suit on. And just do a water change.
