Best way to encourage jack Dempsey to spit out...

So my Jd has half a clown loach sticking out of him for four hours now...chasing it with nets does no good; should I leave him like this over night or try more drastic actions?

My blackbelt did the same thing with Skelton of a pictus cat. I had to net him out and remove because it was stuck in his mouth. I'd wait a little while longer idk if loaches have any dangerous spines or such but doesn't hurt to observe him just to make sure it's in no distress

He is not distressed yet...but think the loach is stuck...they do have those spines under their eyes...and it's a two incher Jd tried to swallow.

the loach might be alive though. i would grab the fish and hold it with a towel and try wiggling it. the barbs of the loach are hooked in. you might scrape the jack up but they can both still live

that's upsetting...i love my loaches.... put the JD in time out lol
